The Indian and Inuit Art Centre, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC), is responsible for the development, preservation and promotion of the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada Art Collection.

The Indian and Northern Affairs Canada Art Collection represents works of art by Canadian First Nations (Indian), Inuit and Métis artists. INAC's collection of over 4,000 works includes regional representation from prominent, mid-career and emerging artists, of all major art media forms, such as basketry, beadwork, carvings, ceramics, drawings, installation art, paintings, photography, limited edition prints, sculpture and textiles dating from the early 1960s to the present.

The Indian and Northern Affairs Canada Art Collection is managed by the Indian and Inuit Art Centre and includes an Acquisition Program; Art Lending Program, Resource Library of Indian and Inuit art documentation and the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada Art Gallery.
